Dental 3d Scanning
dental scans. Cad/Cam and metal free solutions. 3Shape and Zirkonium. 3Shape Scanner and ZENO Wieland - I-Mes
3Shape's dental solutions combines 3Shape's expertise in 3D scanning and 3D CAD software into an integrated solution for the creation of customized restorations.
The system is open and offers the most advanced 3D technology packed in a very user-friendly interface. Among others it allows you to scan full casts or dies automatically and easily design caps, crowns, inlays and bridges from the scanned data.
3Shape's open system allow you to manufacture your products on any suitable milling machine, 3D printer or to use generally available manufacturing services.
3Shape also offers scanners and software used in orthodontics applications.

Dental 3D Scanner D-200™
Open and versatile 3D dental scanning
3Shape's D-200™ is a state-of-the-art 3D scanner used to create accurate 3D scans of dies/stumps, inlay preparations, bridge preparations, bites/antagonists, wax-ups, full dental casts, and super-structures.
3D copies of the customer's dental casts or dies/stumps are available after a few minutes. Saved in an open format, they can be used directly in 3Shape's modeling software package, DentalDesigner™ or in other third-party software applications.
The scanning system runs on a standard Windows™-based PC (included) and requires no specific expertise to be operated.

Technology
The scanning of a dental preparation is performed using an optical scanning system, whereby laser planes are projected onto the object. High-resolution digital cameras acquire images of the lines created on the cast or die(s). 3Shape’s unique image processing software automatically processes the images and creates accurate and fully surfaced 3D models.
Accurate and complete geometry
Unique features of the D-200 scanner guarantee superior scan results. The scanner captures the full geometry of the dental model in one scanning session with high accuracy, including any undercuts present on the original model.
- Fast and easy positioning of the objects in the scanner without compromising accuracy
- Consistently high levels of precision are guaranteed by projective geometry and a novel calibration of the laser, cameras and axes
- Undercuts on the original object are automatically captured: the object is placed on a rotation plate (360 degree rotation) and is moved along a linear axis (translation) and a secondary rotation axis (tilt) to ensure maximum exposure of the geometry to the cameras and laser

Main advantages of the D-200™ scanner
Versatility - the D-200 handles most types of dental models, according to your scanning needs: dies/stumps, inlays (incl. deep inlays), bridge preparations (from 2 to 14 units), bites, wax-ups (crowns, bridges), super-structures, pontics, full casts (up to 16 units), overbites (double scans)
Open file formats - the 3D files can be saved and exported in a number of standard formats, such as STL. This makes the D-200 fully compatible with all open solutions and applications available on the market
High and consistent levels of accuracy - continuous validation using Mititoyo™ metrology gauge blocks
One-button scanning - just place the object (cast, bridge, die) in the scanner -no precise positioning is necessary. Click on one button in the scanning software and 3Shape’s unique scanning technology ensures a complete coverage of the whole geometry of the object, including potential undercuts
Alignment of scanned parts - using 3Shape’s unique algorithms, the scanner automatically aligns different scanned parts (upper and lower bite, stump and dental cast etc.)
Automatic 3D model creation from scanned data - the scanner software automatically creates a surfaced 3D model from the acquired point cloud data. The 3D files are ready to be modeled in 3Shape’s DentalDesigner™ or other third-party software applications
